This was the scene at the Richards Townsite landing at the West side of Lake Winniboshish. What appears to be ice from a distance is nothing more than a mass of floating ice cubes and now, it's surrounded by open water. The entire West side stretch from the Missiissippi River inlet up to Stony Point is wide open. From Tamarack Bay to Bena is also wide open. Today will likely be the last day on earth for this tinkling mass of cocktail ice.
